Blasting the cobwebs

Well I managed to get out for a jog earlier it was raining and quite bracing. I am definitely fitter than I have been for a year or so. I need to start getting out for a run 2 or 3 times a week and improve my lung capacity, a lot.

As well as loosing weight the aim of all this fitness lark is to take part in the Great Scottish Run 10K event in September. I took part two years ago and finished in a time of 1hr 07min this year I aim to finish in under an hour.

As September is quite a while away today I signed up to run the four Polaroid series 10K events starting at the end of May.
I will use these to get used to the distance and some idea of what I will need to do to get under the hour.

How long is the distance you are going to run ? – I once ran 10 Kilometres in something called Kellogs Fun Run. We were supposed to bring a partner, but I didn’t have one so I brought my dog – we finished in a quite good time and both of us were so exhausted and we promised eachother never to do it again. A promise I have managed to keep.

    Hi Nan,

it is 10 Kilometres I will be running. I guess I could take a Goldfish along but I don’t think that would be fair as they don’t really like being on a lead
